Photo Album - Living Room The
living room is a charming, warm, and comfortable, area for guests to sit and
visit or rest and relax by the fireplace and large window overlooking the
Siuslaw River and sand dunes. The magnificent woodwork in this room is clear
cut fir, with built-in china cabinets and pillars in the entryway and
between the living room and dining room, and the floor is white oak, all
original from the original 1914 Sears Craftsman home. The stairwell up to
the second floor was part of a remodel in 1991, and recently redone in 2005
to add the clear cut fir, carpet runner, brass accents, and lighting. The
living room is beautifully decorated in soft rose tones with antique
furniture, including a refurnished Wegman upright piano made in the 1930's.
It is in tune, and guests are welcome to play it. An Heirloom Lace table
runner and matching mantle scarf, along with the very large floral wool area
rug, complete the ambience of this luxurious room. |
